Can I take over the tenancy if the person I live with dies?

1 min read

You might be able to stay in your home if the person who signed the tenancy agreement dies, but it depends on a number of things.

If your partner, spouse or parent has died, you might be able to stay in your home and take over the tenancy. It depends on:

- What your relationship is to the person who died

- How long you've been living with them

- What your circumstances are

- What the tenancy agreement says

- The final decision isn't always up to us, but please get in touch as soon as possible to discuss your situation.
